From a South African Sherry Cask this 1992 Speyside whisky is truly fabulous. It is the first release under our new label "Dancing Stag"
Scored 92.5 in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2011 which is available to buy here
Jim's Tasting notes:
Nose (23 points) a beautiful mix of garibaldi biscuit dunked in coffee and dank caramelized biscuit; a miniscule touch of smoke can be found in the background; Taste (23.5 points) astonishing texture, helped along the way by liberal doses of golden syrup, molasses and hickory; elsewhere some burnt Dundee cake chips in, complete with nuttiness Finish (23 points) long, robust with the molasses really taking hold, followed by a spiced up vanilla fade; Body (23 points) the oldest and probably finest whisky I have ever encountered from this distillery
The Dancing Stag Series. On a dark windy night with the moon looming over the Highlands, returning from a whisky buying trip the Directors of Robert Graham were confronted by a magnificent stag who appeared to dance in the moonlight. Thus this new line of inspired whiskies. Coincidentally, this happened as our new store on Canongate, Royal Mile was opening in an area King David the 1st created after seeing a vision of a stag with a cross between its antlers.
