The one thing that Scotland has given the world which is truly of worldwide popularity must be Scotch whisky. Few people have never heard of it and millions of cases of it are exported to every corner of the globe each year.
For every case exported, for every deal done and every bottle opened, a salesperson will have been involved and these unsung and worldly wise men and women travel the globe maintaining contact with their company's agents, ensuring that their product maintains its presence in the vital export markets.
One such person is Scotch whisky export sales manager, Malcolm Greenwood, a Speysider who came via the teaching profession and working on the rigs to the independent malt whisky distiller, J&G Grant of Glenfraclas. In his line of work he has to deal with all sorts of people in all sorts of situations and this has led Malcolm to record his travels during a typical year in Another Nip Around the World
On these "field trips" he has also experienced some marvellous restaurants around the world and his gastronomic adventures (including an incident in Italy when he was offered 'ground mice'!) pepper the pages of this book
Starting with a typical Scots Hogmanay and travelling through Holland, France, Italy, Sweden and further afield, Malcolm relays his adventures in a light-hearted yet informative style
Finally, a chapter on conducting a malt whisky tasting provides invaluable advice for anyone who is keen to spread the gospel of Scotch whisky
